Ionic Strength of the Initial Solution as an Effective Way of Optimization in Chromatofocusing

Abstract

Optimization of pH gradient shape in chromatofocusing is possible due to the right choice of ionic strength of a start solution and an eluent. The applicability of simple, single-component eluents with the combination of high ionic strength of start solution for the generation of quasi-linear pH gradients in chromatofocusing of amino acids and proteins was demonstrated in the first time.
