Effect of Surfactants on the Acid-Base and Colorimetric Characteristics
of Pyrogallol Red and Bromopyrogallol Red
Abstract
Dissociation constants for pyrogallol red (PR) and bromopyrogallol red
(BPR) have been determined in
the present of surfactants by spectrophotometric and colometric methods. Effect
of the surfactants concentration on dissociation constants near the critical micelle
concentration (CMC) has been investigated. Molar absorption coefficients in the
present of surfactants and molar chromaticity functions coefficients PR and BPR
as associate with cetylpyridinium bromide and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide
have been determined for individual forms of reagents.
