Modification of the Polysterene Surface by BSA/Tween-80 Complex and Forecast of Biocompatibility

Abstract

Polystyrene surface was modified by the complex of Tween-80–BSA. Complex adsorption and a film formation have been established using piezoelectric weighing method. State of modified surfaces was evaluated by contact angle measurements. Stability of modifying layers has been determined on the basis of critical values of interfacial energy after contacting of samples with water during 12 hours. Potential possibility is discussed for complex applications to enhance the biocompatibility of polymer materials.
