About the aerodynamic acceleration of heavy particle in a supersonic jet of disparate mass binary mixture

Abstract

On the basis on moment method for solving the Boltzmann equation with an ellipsoidal velocity distribution function, aerodynamic particle acceleration heavy component mixtures in trace amounts in the light carrier gas has been considered. A simple analytical dependence of the limiting average velocity of the particles of the heavy component on conditions in the source and the constant C6 branch attraction interaction potential was obtained.  Comparison with experimental data shows good agreement.
