Methods of processing mass spectrometry
data for identification of the peptides and proteins
Abstract
One of the most common method for peptide
and protein identification is mass spectrometry. First step is an enzymatic
digestion, then mass spectrometric data are received. Identification of this
compounds is realized by using differents algorithms and programs for database
search or de novo sequencing. The most popular software products and databases
are briefly reviewed in the article.
Key words: peptides, protein, mass spectrometry,
enzymatic digestion, database, de novo sequencing, programs.
