Structural rationale non-Newtonian flow

Abstract

Considered complex rheological behavior of structured systems, namely, suspensions, emulsions, polymer melts and solutions, micellar fluids and liquid crystal systems. It is the coexistence of different flow regimes for a wide range of shear rates. It is shown that the generalized equation describes the flow successfully for plastic and pseudo plastic flow. Newtonian and non-Newtonian behavior of fluid-structured systems is explained in the framework of the structural microrheological model.
Key words: non-newtonian flow, flow regimes, structured system, generalized flow equation.
