ABSTRACT. The capillary rise of aqueous solutions of various surfactants in glass capillaries was studied. It is shown that the concentration dependence h(C) of capillary rise height h of the solutions of anionic and nonionic surfactants correlates with the isotherm of surface tension ?(C). Dependence h(C) for the solutions of cationic surfactants has a plateau at C<CMC. The height of capillary rise of the solutions of cationic surfactants differs from h of water already at minute values of C. It is suggested that cationic surfactants are excessively concentrated near the three-phase contact line.
