Accounting for beta-ray selfabsorption in radiometry of the saturated layers of substance

Abstract

It is shown, that upon determination of specific radioactivity of the saturated layers of substance for majority of radionuclides one can use the absorption coefficients for “narrow” beam. In this case error of calculation is less then 25%, while without accounting for self-absorption the error is several times more.
