Determination of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride using gold nanoparticles and polyurethane foam

Abstract

The adsorption of gold nanoparticles stabilized by sodium citrate on polyurethane foam (PUF) in the absence and presence of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride (PHMG), depending on time of the phase contact, pH and concentration of nanoparticles was investigated. The opportunity of PHMG determination using gold nanoparticles, PUF and the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy was shown (Cmin = 0.008 µg mL-1). PHMG determination in the model mixtures based on mineral and tap water and water from the pool was carried out.
